Vénuce is a French-born multidisciplinary artist based in Lisbon, after ten years in Paris. She started drawing at the age of four and never stopped. Drawing remains at the heart of her practice, a way of observing, transforming and making sense of the world around her.
Playful and insatiably curious, she moves freely between paper, sculpture, textiles, objects and furniture, constantly exploring how her drawn universe can take physical form. Her work is nourished by cinema, architecture, music and the people she encounters, loved or simply observed along the way.
In recent years, her silhouettes have begun to leave the page and enter space — becoming objects, volumes and furniture, while retaining the playful, sensual and slightly surreal character of her drawings.
Across these different mediums, Vénuce develops a world of expressive forms and characters, defined by a certain sexual nonchalance and an ongoing curiosity for the relationship between the body, the object and its surroundings
